Major quake hits 78 miles off coast of El Salvador

Late Sunday night a major earthquake hit in the Pacific Ocean around 78 miles off coast of El Salvador. According to the U.S. Geological Survey the quake measured 7.4 magnitude at a depth of 33 miles.

The Tsunami Warning Center said there is no tsunami threat to Hawaii. However, a warning is in effect for Costa Rica, Nicaragua, El Salvador, Honduras, Guatemala, Panama and Mexico.

No serious damage has been reported.
