Quake shakes southwestern Iran town of Lali

The Seismological center of Khuzestan province said that a quake measuring 3.3 on the Richter scale hit the town of Lali on Friday.

Iran, which sits on a number of major faults, is prone to earthquakes, some proving to be deadly. More than 31,000 were killed in 2003 in Bam, located in southeastern Kerman province.
