Nigeria church attack in Kogi state ‘kills 19’

According to a recent report by BBC there have been at least 19 people who “have been killed in a gun attack on a church in central Nigeria.”

BBC said there were gunmen who “stormed the church near the city of Okene in Kogi state and fired on worshippers… The pastor was among those killed when the assailants fired Kalashnikov assault rifles, the officials add. It is not clear who carried out the attack but militant Islamist group Boko Haram has carried out numerous raids on churches and other targets in Nigeria. BBC Nigeria correspondent Will Ross says the shooting happened further south than most areas affected by Boko Haram violence.” Read the rest of the article here.

Manichaeans are aware of the difference between peaceful and law-abiding Muslims and Muslims who choose to impose their faith on others through violence and terror.

The heinous actions of an extremist fanatical minority should not lead us to demonize Islam and the majority of Muslims who obey the commandments set out in their religion.

Nevertheless, those who use religion to justify terror should be stopped immediately because whether they know it or not, they are servants of a much darker power.

Manichaeism teaches that the right of religious people to live their faith in peace and without being terrorized should be protected in the face of those who choose to live their religion by the sword.
